ANGELA GALE, FOUNDER - "I founded Black T-Shirt Campaign ultimately because my conscience was bothering me and I couldn't stand by and not do something. I have faith in people: I believe that deep-down we mostly want the best for each other. I wanted to find a way to force that door open - make a better life possible for someone else. I have always been a very independent person, thinking outside of the box to find solutions, and Black T-Shirt just made sense to me. I am 20 years old and not in college - I am on a much more hands-on path of learning that will eventually give me the background I need to be able to open a residential treatment center for youth who are too mentally ill to be placed in foster-care homes - before I get there, I will spend 2 years in the Peace Corps. Until then, Black T-Shirt is my life.
MY TEAM - "My team consists of people I went to school with or worked with who heard about Black T-Shirt and wanted to get involved. I have been blessed to have connections who knew how to make promotional videos, who understand graphic design, who were willing to help fill out forms and google regulations with me. They have been there to help me in every step - from going to the stores to pick up supplies and researching brands for me, to writing the song for the promotional video - and I could never have done it without them. I am so grateful for the practical help, as well as their faith in me and their emotional support."
